They called it incredible India

Yesterday, 27th of November 2008, a group of terrorist launched an attack in city of Mumbai, challenging the strength of mighty Indian militant. It was almost two days passed by but still Indian Army is struggling to take control over the scene. The terrorist are still attacking and have already achieved their goals.

The immaturity shown by the Indian defense is highly questionable. That raises many doubts about their readiness for a sudden terrorist attacks of this nature. However India had his long wind habit of pressurize/ advice Sri Lanka about how to deal with terror.

This is a simple comparison that I have done in between Indian Army against a terrorist group and Sri Lankan Army against the most ruthless terrorist group.

You will have the Indian army in the left side while Sri Lankan Army is in the right side..

India

Vs

Sri Lanka

<-->

Peeping vs Aiming

<-->

Waiting vs Exploring/ Chasing

<-->

Standing/ Relaxing vs Expecting/ Vigilent

<-->

Defending vs Attacking

<-->

Searching vs Petroling

<-->

Hiding/ Aiming vs Aiming/ Attacking

<-->

Looking vs Finding

Women Soldier

<-->

Hiding vs Attacking

I am by no mean expecting you to come to any conclusions by looking at this.. However Sri Lanka will not hesitate to provide military aids if India is willing to ask for it..

Good article. Can't stop laughing.

We sri lankans find it laughable, but it is the truth.
I followed this incident in order to find out, what I can learn from the "most feared" black cat commandos in the "super power" nation in the south asian region. But it was disturbing to see, how they reacted to this situation. I purposely forget the indian police because it is not worth mentioning their role.
Some thoughts on the incident:
1. Time frame:
It took about 12 hours for the black cats to be deployed. A professional commando entity should be made deployable within one hour of any incident.
2. No plan :
The most disturbing thing was that the "black cats" began attacking the attackers directly, obviously without a plan. Although, well trained, well equipped and well informed, the attackers are in a hostile region when they carry out the attack. Therefore the commandos always have the advantage. They should execute a combing operation with utmost care, beginning from a well secured side, where the hostages can move out quickly. They must first let the attackers feel, that they are not confronted directly, because the attackers will kill as many hostages as they can to cause the maximum destruction when they get to know that the counter-attack takes place. The plan would be to attack all the besieged sites simultaneously to get the attackers by surprise.
3. The face of the soldiers:
More than any thing, what is most disturbing is the "men behind the weapon". When I see the black cat commandos signaling victory signs or laughing to get a photo shoot, I am not surprised that they get the job "done" in 60 hours. When I see the pictures now, I am so happy that indian prime minister was safe in Sri Lanka during the SAARC summit with these people around them.

My conclusion:
1. Black cats are not worthy enough to get the most feared color in the world. So better it would be something like pink or red.
2. Cats are predators who attack their prey thereby not letting them to be a prey of another predator. The rat is such an animal who always fall as a prey to others.

P.S. "The noble emperor in Sri lanka"

Whether the legend is true or not, that is the best attitude a sri lankan can have. And the attitude is everything.

Keep up the good work man.

Good comparison in terms of the military tactics and the superiority.

Why don't we discuss about the aftermath of the incident?

Dozens of their superiors resigned from their portfolios. It included the advisor to the National Security and the Home Minister.

Will this happen in Sri Lanka?

Is there anyone to take the responsibility and step down?

Thats the sad part.

Its true that our soldiers are somewhat close to Killinochchi and you guys are talking about the military superiority and the tactics over here. But no one is declaring the actual scores.

So the point is, we can not place our guys top of another.

But keep it in mind that we are fighting against a guerrilla gang.

See what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, most powerful armies fought hard to gain the control over the land but still we are seeing death tolls in double digits.

This is not to let you guys down. We need a good tactic in this kind of war. Battles in mass scale won't give the ultimate solution.

I do appreciate, if there is a defense analyst to suggest LRRP type of operations rather than wasting of millions of dollars worth warfare and the lives of soldiers.

Such a tactic will bring down the TAF and the LTTE leadership. Thats the only way to confront against these kinds of notorious terrorists.

Else we are giving unwanted publicity for them throughout the globe.

“In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved his title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads. Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours.”

In the annals of modern warfare, the 1971 war between India and Pakistan is regarded as a template of brilliance. Within 13 days, the Indian army routed Pakistan in one of the swiftest campaigns of the 20th century.

You people have made my day.Such a bunch of immatures.

You lost 30% of your country to a terrorist organization and took 30 years to finish them off and you laugh at India??

Worse still,you needed the entire world including India,China,Russia,US,Pakistan on your side to finish off a terrorist organisation which was on its own and led by a 8th standard dropout and you guys have the audacity to laugh at India.

You guys are Such a bunch of half baked nuts
